04:41 pm - Update of things
Hello fellow journal fans,
It would seem that it has been quite a long time since I have posted anything. The lsat post was saved from a started post almost a year ago. My my how time really flies when you are trying to get an education. I spent most of this year working on my Bachelors degree. I took class after class from the begging of Jan until the beginning of July. then after about four or five weeks it finally arrived: my diploma. That is right, that little piece of paper that says I have finally taken all the classes necessary to move into the real world and try my hand at survival.
SO far, the only thing I have managed to do is sink farther into debt: who knew college student loans actually did cost an arm and a leg. Anyway, things are really starting to heat up at the house. I'm currently in the midst of getting another job since the one I have is slowly eating away at my soul. I am also in the midst of saving for my upcoming wedding.
Yes, we are finally getting married on May 30th, 2009! So dear friends, wish me luck as I continue on my journey into that which we call the rat race.
My the ground rise up to meet you and my God bless you all.

Greeting and Salutations,
Today was the first day of school for what will hopefully be my last two semesters of college GC&SU. It was came as no surprise to me that the school had done some changes that I felt I just had to talk about with my dear friends who my still be interested in my sorted affairs. I had an 9 a.m. class that I was nearly late for because my school has decided that the teachers, who are outnumbered about 30+ to one, have more right to parking than the students who are keeping the school running and neccassary. When I went to park this morning in my usual parking spot, I was surprised to find that now, after four years or more, it has been rezoned as employee parking. Now, on a usual day I would not care about this issiue at all, but what chaps me about it is that once I went and aquired a map of parking around the campus I was shocked to find that there are at least 10+ parking areas assigned to teachers/employee parking, while the commuter students get two tiny places to park. these include a tiny sliver of parking spots down a main street tha supports about twenty to twenty-five cars and another lot that holds about fifty cars. However, the second lot that I mention is divided into three differnet zones: commuters, residents, and overflow from other lots.
Now this brings me to my next point. Last year we had a situation where our county and city officials decided to have a pissing contest over a piece of property that another parking lot was on. Our city's court house is seated right next to a two level parking garage. The problem with this whole thing was that the city was having problems with students parking in the parking garage and other patrons to our downtown are were unable to park there. Now, our city officials in their infinate wisdumb decided that they would try and do something to keep these college kids out of there precious garage. So, to keep out students, they installed a toll gate at both ends of the bottom level. Most of the time I would not have a problem with this, however, the charge for this service was one dollar for the first hour and then two dollars for each hour after that. You can image the amount of money students would have to pay if they left there car there all day. Some of them will have a class at 9 in the morning, several hour break, then several classes and then another break and then more classes and my not even get out until 8 or 9 that night if they have night classes. Now, they have the option of moving their cars during one of those breaks, but as any college student over the freshman level knows, it's hard enough to even eat let alone move a car sometimes.
Now, this is the kicker for me. Shortly after the gates became opperational, the local paper prints a story congratulating the city for cutting down on student vehicles on the parking garage. Now I ask you, does this seem like a mature thing to do or does it sound more like a sschoolyard bully singing "na na na boo boo". How do they expect us to take an election seriously?

11:00 pm - Harry Potter and the end of it all
Greetings fellow journalists,
It has been very crazy lately, but I have read the final chapters of the Harry Potter Saga. I gave it about a week before I decided to say anything so as to let everything I had read sink in. I must admit was not very happy with the way the story ended, but i do have to give credit to J.K. for making me see that it was all for the best in the end. Some people might not have made it, who shall remain nameless for those who still might not know who they are, but i think it all came together for a happy ending. I know a fellow journalist who was IRATE at the idea of certain things happening to her favorite characters, but know she knows how it felt for me when Joss Whedon decided to destroy the world of Serenity that I loved so much. But, in the end both authors, did something for their characters that had to be done. Sacrifices had to be made for the main character of the story to get off their ass and actually do what was right.
So, in conclusion, I feel we should all stand back and look at just what had to be done for the good of the series instead of what we wanted for our favorite characters.
Until the next time we meet,
God bless you all.

10:18 pm - If books hold the key to knowledge, seems bookstores would be more abundant, right?
Hello again ladies and gentleman,
It's hard to believe that I have left this thing untouched for almost a whole year now. There have been so many things to come up that I can't possibly remember them all to update this thing properly.
First and for-most, I am in the last year of my college education, I think. I have started working on my Senior project, which will be the total design for the George Bernard Shaw play Pygmalion. For those of you who are not familiar with this show, please see www.IMDB.com and look up My Fair Lady under TITLES. The movie version had Rex Harrison from Dr. Dolittle fame and the wonderful Audrey Hepburn ... need I say more?
Anyway, the next thing of importance for me is the fact that during November of last year I became Engaged to a wonderful woman who I will be marring come May of next year.
For those who now me intimately, you will probably be shocked to learn that Mom was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago for open heart surgery. They have to perform a quadruple bypass on her. She has been hope for a whole week come tomorrow. She is doing well though and it will take some time to get used to sitting around and taking it easy for a while.
Well, I think those are about the biggest things that I needed to update, if I think of anything else I will probably just write it down and wait another six months to a year to update you folks again.
It's funny, I have no delusions that their are people out there just waiting for me to write things on this little electronic stress reliever, but I could be wrong and have many adoring fans that are just waiting with baited breath at the e-mail telling them that I have updated.
Anyway, I will try and be more forth coming with you all in the future.
Stay safe, don't drink and drive or let your friends.

Hello again Friends and Random Journal Readers,
I just realized that it has been four months since my last entry, so I decided that I would leave a little message to let anyone concerned about me know that I NOT fallen of the edge of the Earth.
I have just recently finished participating in our school's main stage performance of the musical "The Spitfire Grill." As my memory starts to slip and I'm too lazy to look at my archive, I believe that I told everyone that I took on the job of asst. scene designer for the production. I was given two projects by the Scene designer: construct rocks for a "quarry" and then construct the stump that plays a major part in the play. I also took it on my own accord to assist the prop masters of the show by building a log pile and having some logs slpit for firewood. I also built a rail for the "back porch". Anyway, things went wonderfully and most of the people that attended the performance left with a good feeling and word to pass along to the cast and director.
I hope that this will appease those hungry for my particular brand of life,
Until next time,
Take care folks,

12:27 pm - TURKEY! but not the Butterball kind.
Hello Again Dear Friends and Journal Readers,
I have been rather busy again lately but I didn't want to disappoint any of my fans that I might have picked up. I had a few papers to write lately and some stuff to do for the Theater Department, but mostly I am just as laid back as ever.
Yesterday was the first day of Deer season and I was out there. The wind was softly blowing, the sun came up just over the trees and lit up the ground beneath me. It was wonderful to just sit out there and be one with the nature and serenity of it all. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any deer, but I did watch a flock or whatever you call it of about a dozen turkeys come out in front of my stand and pecked around the ground. I had never had the chance to just sit and watch them before and it was really invigorating to see them.
Well, I'm not really sure what else to right about, so I guess I will take my leave for now.
Until next time my friends,
"Give me your hands, if we be friends, and Robin shall restore amends"

Hello Dear Friends and Journal Readers,
I thought I would give you my promised update on Stop Kiss. The show is finally over and I am free from any type of commitments until our next show, Travesties, which I am the Assistant Scenic Designer for as I might have told you already. After our show this afternoon, we had Strike and had to dismantle all of the scenery and put up all the props. That lasted for two hours, so now is my time to rest and recuperate. I'll let you guys now how things are going on my usual Friday Night Update, huh, sounds kind of like some kind of news report doesn't it?
Well until then my friends,

09:50 pm - Fate is a Rather Fickle Friend Indeed
Hello again dear friends and journal readers,
As you all have learned, I am a theater major at Georgia College and State University, well if you did not you do now. Now I know it is a bit past my self imposed Friday deadline, but so much has happened this past weekend and the beginning of this week that I can hardly believe it. I was extremely busy this weekend cause I had load in* so I was exhausted until monday. Well, for an upcoming play that is being performed by our theater department, I had volunteered to be on the shift crew* which was ok since I still got credit for my practicum*. Well, as fate would have it, a friend of mine who WAS the light board operator* has a swim meet this weekend and wont be able to do his job, so I told him that if he wanted to he could tell the lighting designer* that I would be more than happy to take his place. I talked to the designer today and I was given the job.
Now, if that was not enough, I had signed on to be the assistant scenic designer* for another upcoming show that is going up after next weeks show, much to the surprise of the scenic designer* who had no idea that there was an assistant position. Well, it turns out, that not only will I be getting program recognition for these two jobs, but I will also be getting two practicum* credits out of the seven that I have to have to graduate. I could not believe my luck, maybe it was a good thing that I took everyone's advice and finally changed my major to theater.
Now, for those that are not familiar with theater lingo, here is a small key:
Load In: The process of loading all completed set pieces into the acting space.
Shift Crew: People designated to change the scenery on stage between each act or scene in a production.
Practicum: A process of actually working as a performer or on some technical aspect of a production.
Light Board Operator: The person designated to work the lights in and out on a production.
Lighting Designer: The person who chooses what type of light, what type of color gel to use, what position each light should be in during a production.
Scenic Designer: The person who writes up what kind of set pieces will be used and what the set itself will look like once everything is put together to create the allusion for a production.
Assistant Scenic Designer: The person that assists the Scenic Designer in any aspect that my be needed.
Now, just to let you know, all those definitions were of my own creation. Sounded rather professional did they not?
Well friends, I will see you again this weekend, if I shall survive. It is tech weekend which means I will be working from like 10am - 10pm Sat & 12pm - 10 pm Sun. Cross your fingers and hope for the best my friends.
Until next time,
"Give me your hands, if we be friends, and Robin shall restore amends."
